Burn It UpChristmas 2003 saw the launch of Martin's CD Burn It Up! The album is aimed at Burns Suppers, Hogmanay celebrations and parties and features contemporary dance arrangements of some of Burns's most famous songs including A Man's A Man, Green Grow The Rashes O!, Scots Wha Hae and Auld Lang Syne.

Martin said: "Rabbie Burns is timeless.
I wanted to try and show how he is as relevant at the start of the 21st Century as he was to people in his own day.
I like the idea of Burns songs being played in pubs and clubs and think the idea would have appealed to him because he certainly knew how to party!"

Burn It Up

The Address to a Haggis is recited at Burns Suppers all over the world. Now Martin has transformed the poem into The Haggis Song - the first track on Burn It Up! - which he describes as a Celtic Jungle Mix featuring fiddles and a pipe band backed by Afro percussion rhythms.

Burn It Up! was featured several times on radio in 2004, including on BBC Radio Scotland and Radio 2. The first live performances were given during the 2004 Festive Season.

Burn It Up! was produced by Steven Hawkes and is available from HMV and Virgin record stores or direct on line from REL Records of Edinburgh - www.relrecords.com
